False Autumn

Informed by Clarkson’s experience of working in office administration and repeatedly finding himself facing redundancy, the exhibition traces the ways that work-related pressures can enter the rhythms of everyday life.

Sculptural works draw on the clipped language and repetitive gestures of of corporate communication, alongside photographs captured in stolen moments with the office scanner. Taking its title from the premature shedding of leaves by trees under environmental stress, False Autumn draws parallels with economic systems of growth, scarcity, and renewal.
